Privacy Policy

MODUX ("we", "our", "the app") is a hybrid athlete training app built by Modux Software. This policy describes what data we collect, how we store it, and your rights.
What data we collect
- Profile preferences — your first name, training goal (e.g. half marathon), experience level, benchmark lifts, and body metrics (weight, height, sex, birthday) used to personalize training and nutrition targets. Provided during onboarding.
- Workout & wellness data — lift sessions (exercises, sets, weight, reps, RPE), run entries (distance, duration, pace, heart rate), nutrition entries (calories and macros), and check-ins (soreness, sleep, motivation) used to compute your readiness and training-stress scores.
- Anonymous user ID — we use Supabase Anonymous Auth to create a unique identifier for your device. Your data is stored under this ID.
- Sign in with Apple (optional) — if you sign in with Apple to save your progress across devices, we receive and store the name and email address Apple provides. You can use the app fully without signing in.
- Strava data — if you choose to connect Strava, we import your running activities (distance, duration, start time, activity ID). We access only the data you authorize and only read activity data. We never post to Strava on your behalf.
- Apple HealthKit data — if you grant permission, we read the following to power your readiness score and training insights: workouts, walking/running distance, active energy burned, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability (HRV), and sleep analysis. We also write to Apple Health in one case: when you log a run manually in MODUX, we save it back as a running workout (with distance and energy) so it appears alongside your other workouts. We do not write any other data to HealthKit.
- Diagnostics — we use Sentry to collect crash reports and performance/error diagnostics so we can find and fix bugs. This data is not linked to your identity (we disable personally identifiable information) and is never used to track you across other apps or websites.
- Subscription data — if you start a MODUX Pro subscription or free trial, we use RevenueCat to manage it. RevenueCat receives your MODUX user ID and your purchase / subscription status. Payment is handled by Apple; we never receive your payment-card details.
How your data is stored
All data is stored in a Supabase Postgres database. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS). The database is hosted on AWS infrastructure managed by Supabase, Inc.
Local device storage (AsyncStorage) is used for session persistence and user preferences. This data stays on your device.
Who can access your data
Only you. Every database query is scoped to your anonymous user ID via Supabase Row Level Security (RLS). Our team does not access individual user data unless you explicitly request support and grant permission.
Third-party services
What we do NOT do
- We do not display ads.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
- We do not use advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs, and we do not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA). Our only third-party data tooling is Sentry, used solely for crash and performance diagnostics as described above.
- We do not collect your location, contacts, or photos.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated data anytime in the app: open the Profile tab and tap "Delete Account" — deletion is immediate and permanent. You can also email tave2000@icloud.com with the subject line "MODUX Data Deletion Request" and we will delete your data within 14 days of receiving your request.
Children's privacy
MODUX is not intended for children under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 17 years of age.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
